Point 25 matches the most promising women-led companies with amazing C-level Advisors for their Advisory Boards. The 'Point 25' name comes from the equity incentive of 0.25% that an advisor often receives when joining a startup's advisory board. It is based on the belief that - while money is a large part of what determines the success of early stage companies - having the right network of helpful and influential advisors can really propel the business forward. This is also an effort to facilitate advisory board roles for prominent leaders who wish to give back to the startup ecosystem.
Each event will showcase 4 potential advisors. A member of the press will moderate an overview of their backgrounds and areas of interest. The advisors will then spend the next hour rotating around 4 tables (in 15 minute blocks) and speaking with a 3-4 pre-selected, women-led companies at each table. There will also be a reception afterwards where everyone can interact further. The events are invite-only and highly curated to maximize the quality of interaction and high-potential introductions.
The application period for the Point 25 2019 Fall Series is now closed! Applicants will be notified by Sunday, October 20th if accepted. While the application period has passed, entrepreneurs may still apply for the waitlist via this site. Last minute openings may occur due to personal emergencies or family obligations of the attendees. If a space opens, accepted candidates will be notified as soon as possible and given a short window to secure their tickets before the ticket is released to another potential attendee. Only one person per company may attend. Thanks for your interest!
The focus of these events is on advisory boards, not fundraising, and it is up to the potential advisor if they want to ask separately about an opportunity to invest. There is no requirement that an advisor join a company's advisory board if they don't click with any of the entrepreneurs. It's up to the entrepreneur and potential advisor to continue discussions after the event and decide upon the exact level of involvement and equity incentive for the role, if they'd like.
Yes! If you're a C-Level executive and/or active advisor interested in being profiled at a future event, please provide more information HERE. Advisors should have no conflicts with their current company/commitments in taking on such a role. It is not necessary to have prior experience as an advisor. Both men and women are welcome. Potential advisors should possess the desire to help women-led companies and be able to spend quality time giving strategic advice and making key introductions.
